Experience

Writer, producer and organisational partner

I work with charities, CICs, arts organisations, community groups, writers and theatre-makers. I am also Deputy Manager of The Seagull, an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and community theatre, where my responsibilities span fundraising, producing, organisational development, partnerships, community programmes, financial planning and venue operations.

That combination matters. I do not approach an application only as a writer: I understand the delivery questions behind it. I look at whether the timetable is achievable, the costs are realistic, the outcomes can be evidenced and the organisation has the capacity to do what it is promising.

My approach

Clear, honest and collaborative

I aim to make funding and project development clearer and more manageable. I use plain language, ask direct questions and give honest feedback. If an opportunity is poorly matched, I would rather identify that early.

The ideas and expertise belong to the organisation or artist; my role is to help shape and communicate the strongest credible version of the work.
